Desire is a strong feeling of wanting to have something or wishing for something to happen.
It is the first most important aspect of success. You must know exactly what it is you want in life before you can go out there and get it. They say the person who doesn’t know where he or she is going will land anywhere.
So, on your journey to success, you must first of all know what it is you want. What is that thing that has been bugging you? That one thing you want to accomplish in your life that will make your life worthwhile for you? What do you want to become in life? The one goal that when you achieve it will skyrocket all other dreams and aspirations you want in life.
A burning desire is that first step you must take. Mere desire is not enough, it is called a wish and wishes only come true in fairy tales but we are in the real world.
HOW DO YOU DEVELOP A BURNING DESIRE?
First of all, what is it that bothers you all the time when you think about it or see it somewhere?
What moves you? You should answer these questions in your heart.
To some people, like me for instance, I get emotional whenever I see starving people, especially people that cannot do anything about it, those in third world countries, men, women and children.
So one of my main goals in life is to help as much people as God will give me the grace to, by making as much money as I can. You cannot give what you don’t have.
When I tell people that most of the cash I make is not for me, they think I am crazy.
That’s one of the things that move me.
What is it that moves you? Think about it.
Is it that since you were a kid your parents always fought about money and now you want to make enough so that you won’t have to worry or fight with your spouse about it in your own marriage?
By the way, let us get the definition of success straight before we go deep. What is success to you?
You must have your own definition of success and it must be yours. But the general definition of success is the achievement of a desired result or goal. Whether it is the attainment of wealth, fame, good health, better relationships and whatever your definition of success is.
So, take time right now to define success in your own terms.
When you have done that, write it down.
Now, in order to have a burning desire you must hold that desire in your mind. Think about it all the time. Wes Brown said that “If you want a thing bad enough to fight for it, to work day and night for it, to give up your time, your peace and your sleep for it. If all that you dream and scheme is about it, and life seems useless and worthless without it. If you go after it with hope and confidence, faith and sagacity and stern for tenacity, with the help of God you’ll get it.”
