1. Richest Man in Babylon by George S. Clason

The richest man in the world is one of my best books ever and I still read it up till now. My favorite chapter is the cure for a lean purse and that has helped me to always have cash in my pocket. This book is very practical which is why it is one of the greatest personal finance books you will ever need.

2. Think and Grow Rich by Napoleon Hill

If you are a philosophical person this book is for you. It is also for you even if you are not into philosophy. If you want personal success, this book is definitely for you. Napoleon Hill spent 25 years researching the secrets of success from successful businessmen and got the secrets in this book. If you are going to read only one book on personal success, it should be this book.

3. How to Win Friends and Influence People by Dale Carnegie

If you want to be a people person and you want people to like you then this book should be the first you get. I read this book when I was still a teenager and it has helped me a lot with people and it will help you too. How to talk to people, how to be a good conversationalist among other things. This book is the ultimate people book.

4. Goals by Brian Tracy

Lack of self discipline is one of the major causes of failure and Brian Tracy will show you, in this book, how you can overcome this lack of discipline and use the power of setting goals to achieve your goals and become a success. Setting goals is one of the weapons needed for your success and this book will show you how.

5. Influence by Robert Cialdini

If you are a salesperson and you want to sell more of your stuff or you are an ordinary person trying to have more influence on other people, you need to read this book. It outlines all the arsenal of influence on how you can make someone else do what you want them to do. So whether you want to sell more of your merchandise or you want more influence, read this book.

6. Road to Riches by William H. Maher

The road to riches is a book that was written in 1897 and it is one of the books I really like old books because they came out clean from the mind of the authors. No derivations and no distractions. This book is mainly for those starting out. That means if you are a student or a recent graduate, or someone looking to start all over again, this books is for you. You will enjoy it.

7. $100 Startup by Chris Guillebeau

If you are looking to go out on your own and become an entrepreneur but have no money to start, this book is for you. Chris here tells the story of startups and successful entrepreneurs that started with a hundred dollars or less. This book will also show you how you can market your startup with nothing.

8. The Lean Startup by Eric Ries

This books is mainly about innovation and how you can take your current business and turn it into a successful business through constant innovation.

9. Science of Getting Rich by Wallace D. Wattles

The science of getting rich will show you how you can make money. This book is not about philosophies, it is about you becoming rich using highly practical means because you need the money first. It is about first of all, getting money and then doing the philosophical stuff later.

This is a great book by Napoleon Hill that outlines the sixteen lessons on personal success. It is a purely philosophical book and shows you how to become rich from the inside out. This is another classic by Napoleon Hill and you should read it. Don’t try to read it all at once, but read it gradually until you assimilate its contents thoroughly because it has 1170 pages.

11. University of Success by Og Mandino

Most people are familiar with the greatest salesman in the world but don’t know much about the university of success. The university of success is divided into ten semesters which is the number of semesters in a 5-year university program. It is recommended that you read one chapter a night before going to bed so that it can permeate into your subconscious.

12. Greatest Salesman in the World by Og Mandino

This is a great classic book on business in the form a novel. I cannot over-emphasize my recommendations of you reading this book.

The thing is, I have read many blog posts on the kind of business and finance books to read and they are great but I have never seen those that adds the type of books I have outlined here. Sure, everyone knows napoleon hill’s works like think and grow rich etc, but some of the books here like the university of success and road to riches are very eye opening and will teach you a lot.

This one I am sure you must have heard of before. It tells you how to start your own business instead of working a 9-5 job.
